Using clear and accessible language, starting with the story of a real house (that you can go into) and ending with the physical and political space that we live in and need to re-examine, Luca Molinari tells us what kind of homes we are and have been and discusses the homes we should or could be, and above all he explains why without the home there can be no architecture.

Luca Molinari è curatore, critico e professore ordinario di Teoria e Progettazione Architettonica presso il Dipartimento di Architettura e Disegno Industriale dell’Università degli Studi della Campania Luigi Vanvitelli. Direttore editoriale della rivista Platform. Architecture and Design, collabora come autore indipendente con quotidiani e periodici italiani e stranieri tra cui il Corriere della Sera, La Stampa, Lotus e Area. È stato responsabile scientifico per l’Architettura alla Triennale di Milano (2001-2004), curatore del Padiglione Italia alla 14a Mostra Internazionale della Biennale di Venezia (2010), membro del Consiglio Superiore dei Beni Culturali e Paesaggistici (2012-2018) e direttore scientifico di M9 Museo del ’900 di Mestre (2020-2023). Da trent’anni si occupa della curatela di mostre, eventi culturali, festival, strategie museali per istituzioni pubbliche e private in Italia e all’estero. Tra le sue ultime pubblicazioni: Dismisura. La teoria e il progetto nell’architettura italiana (Skira, 2019), La meraviglia è di tutti. Corpi, città, architetture (Einaudi, 2023), Il progetto del racconto (con Federica Rasenti – LetteraVentidue, 2023). Dopo Le case che siamo, riproposto in una nuova edizione ampliata nel 2020, nel 2024 ha pubblicato con nottetempo Stanze. Abitare il desiderio.
